By examining how KDPH staff understood and utilized KHIE, Dr. Joseph-Isang brought attention to the human side of health informatics — the training needs, workflow integration challenges, knowledge gaps, and practical barriers that determine whether a sophisticated data system delivers on its potential or sits underutilized. Technology is only as effective as the people using it. And people can only use technology effectively when they understand it, trust it, and have the support they need to integrate it into their work.
